August Frisch purchased the business after Carl Tennie passed away in the early 1960's and sold the business to his son Brian in 1992. Brian and his wife Karen opened a second location at 523 Main Street in Oshkosh (the former Russ Kenyon Jewelers site) in 1993. They have now welcomed their daughter, Rebecca, into the business.
Our friendly professional staff combines over 225 years of experience in the jewelry business and catering to the needs of our customers has become one of our trademarks. We believe in offering only the jewelry which we ourselves would love to wear, and at a price that we would be willing to spend.

My career in jewelry began with my very first job working for an independent jeweler when I was still in high school. I learned a lot of my basic skills in customer service, jewelry repair, ring sizing, restringing, and engraving. I then attended and graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College - Milwaukee's watchmaking program where I had also studied jewelry fabrication, repair, and casting. While attending college, I worked in the repair department of a major department store iand in a wholesale jewelry supply house. Upon graduation, I served a one year apprenticeship and then passed the state board exam, becoming one of the few women licensed watchmakers in the state and a Certified Master Watchmaker. I continue to hone my skills through industry programs, seminars, conventions and trade journals.
At Tennies, I enjoy working with customers, appraisals, restringing, watch and jewelry repair, special orders, bookkeeping, window displays, engraving, and anything else I can do to make sure our customer's experience here is a pleasant one.
